The process started with a detailed questionnaire followed by regular meetings with the team to understand our HR bottlenecks. What is the minimum number of directors required to incorporate a company?

A minimum of one director is required, and at least one must be a resident of Singapore (either a Singapore citizen, or a permanent resident).

What is the minimum paid-up capital required to incorporate a company in Singapore?

No, you don’t need to be physically present to incorporate a company.

How long does it take for the incorporation processes to be completed?

Are there any restrictions on company names?

Yes, the company name must be approved by the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA). It cannot be identical or too similar to an existing company name, offensive, or prohibited by law.

Can foreigners own 100% of a company in Singapore?

Yes, foreigners can own 100% of a company. There are no restrictions on foreign shareholding. However, there must be a local director in the company to meet the requirements of a company in Singapore.

What is the role of shareholders in the company?

Shareholders are the owners of the company. They hold shares in the company and have voting rights on key decisions. The minimum number of shareholders is one and the maximum is 50 for a private limited company.
